Soufiane is a really Nice gentlemen. He took good care of us. The breakfast every morning was delicious! He also showed us Nice food places in marrakech, and helped us with the taxi and other excursions. The riad is very Nice to relax and the rooms are very good!!We visited with 5 Friends , from holland. If you want a good service and meet Nice Friends then come to riad chalymar!

The way to the hotel is quite hard to follow and if there isn’t anyone to take you there it will be very difficult to find your way. Not really good for single women. This is the main reason for not giving the max stars in my review. The staff was very helpful and they treated us very well, they were polite and nice to us. The breakfast was very good as well and it kept you during almost all day. For sure we will keep this place in mind for our next vacation.

Stayed 2 nights. We were actually brought to its sister riad Belkisse (also very nice) on the same street for 1 night.(look for the Belkisse sign if coming in from hospital street / lot)Note - riad can be very hard to find as have to go through several turns in back alley so don't do it in the dark - ask for airport or pickup from the riad. Although the alley is relatively well lit for Marrakesh standards.As with all riads it is an old building with its charms (so don't expect perfect "new building" standards) and the outside street area can look sketchy at first. 5 min walk to Jema El Fna and street to catch taxi.Great value for the riad experience and nice breakfast with some homemade yogurt. Nice roof terrace with sun bedInside it is very well maintained (showers, bathroom, electric outlets and wifi all kept up to date) and clean with very nice staff and owner (Jean Jacques) - good communication

Yes when you first see the location it can be a bit daunting, but you soon realise that the whole of the old town is set out along a maze of alleyways. Riad Chalymar provides a peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle of the main square and the souks. The rooms are comfortable clean and well serviced, ours was cleaned and the towels replaced every day. The breakfast was simple but fresh and filling with fresh juice and coffee or tea. Soufiane and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Whether it's a trip you're after, advice on where to eat, directions to one of the many sights or advice on how much a taxi will cost, they are the people to ask. Try it, you won't be disappointed, Riad Chalymar is a jewel in the Marrakech crown.

The staff are good. They can speak Arabic, English, French, And Spanish. Breakfast was good but can be improved. The rooftop terrace offers beautiful views and good place to unwind after a tiring day of exploring. The Riad, pool and our room are clean but there’s always a cigarette smoke smell. We also like the decoration of the Riad and it’s quiet. We were upgraded from Deluxe to Suite, which was a bonus (after a gruelling 10hr bus ride and food sickness from Merzouga!). Bed is comfortable and the room has heater. The Riad offers dinner menu but we didn’t see anyone dinning. We stayed for 3nights and according to Agoda/Booking.com we’re to get free dinner. However according to the staff, It apparently stopped last May and Agoda/Booking.com have not updated their websites. They still served us Lamb Tagine (bought from outside) since the lady has confirmed the dinner beforehand. Many shops and cafes since it’s in the Medina. Don’t miss the crazy El Fynna Square at night! Few things we didn’t like are: WiFi is very slow (even though in common areas) and cannot reach our room; the guests smoke inside the Riad and you can smell it also in the room; the Riad is not easy to find (download maps.me for offline navigation); lastly, the alleys to go to the Riad are dark and dodgy. It can be scary but nothing happened to us. Overall, It was a nice experience but I would not stay here again.

This Riad is only a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the main square in Marrakesh, yet is a calm, relaxing escape from it. We enjoyed our stay, which was helped by the friendliness of the staff there, especially Soufiane, who greeted us as we arrived and led us through the alleyways to the Chalymar. This maze, however, is easy to figure out, and becomes second nature. Soufiane helped make us feel at home straight away, making us a cup of Moroccan tea and answering any questions we had about Marrakesh and Moroccan culture and customs. He also recommended the best excursions to take, from day trips in the Atlas Mountains, to a 3-day Sahara adventure. Not all excursions are created equal, and they take pride in only recommending quality tours. Whatever you decide to do, a stay at the Chalymar is highly recommended.

Had a amazing stay at this, riad staff were lovely, location was good if you want to get the true Marrakesh experience, very good value for money and the air conditioning was great. Thanks to the staff for making it an amazing experience. The riad also offers excursions which are perhaps more trustworthy than buying them off the street and when we were charged more by a guide at a trip to Ouzoud, the staff gave us back the money and apologised to us which was great... I would recommend a trip to the waterpark because it is nice to go in a pool in that Marrakech heat.. On another note be careful of the locals trying to rip you off but overall an amazing stay.
